Lumizad Skincare Apothecary began as a passion project in 2018 before evolving and launching in the summer of 2021. At our core, we are a fusion of interest in skin science and Middle Eastern heritage. We are merging both of these pursuits through various initiatives such as sourcing ingredients from the Middle East, educating on the topic of skin science and focusing on Middle Eastern literature.

We draw inspiration for our formulations from the Middle East, through its rich culture and history and through the stories told to us. Wherever possible, we source ingredients from the Middle East helping to support the economy and farmers in the region.

All our products are formulated in-house and hand-blended in micro-batches in our studio. We work with beautiful virgin, cold-pressed oils that are typically wild-crafted or organic and in some cases even upcycled, contributing to a circular economy and a reduction in food waste.

We are all for the slow beauty movement and strive for quality over quantity in all our offerings while concomitantly encouraging conscious skincare purchases. Product development takes time. It can take many, many months and dozens of formulation iterations to finally reach a formulation revision we are satisfied with. It is an art- and much like any other art form- cannot be rushed. At present, we have one product in our offering while work on several other products is taking place in the background.
