Shamash (شمش) - a lightweight, fast-absorbing, golden facial oil inspired by the warmth and luminosity of the Middle Eastern sun.
In ancient Mesopotamia, Shamash was the Akkadian sun god - the bringer of life, clarity, and warmth.
Crafted from a sunlit fusion of six cold-pressed fruit and plant oils - guava, strawberry, watermelon, pomegranate, jojoba, and sea buckthorn - Shamash melts into the skin, restoring balance, hydration, and a dewy, luminous glow and smells sweet and fruity.
These oils were once treasured along ancient trade routes - from the pomegranate groves of Persia, to the desert jojoba shrubs, and the sun-drenched seeds of watermelon. Each carries the legacy of lands bathed in golden light, embodying nourishment, balance, and radiance.
Rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and carotenoids, every drop nourishes and protects - leaving your skin radiant.

Key Ingredients
-
- Strawberry Seed Oil: A sweet-smelling oil that is exceptionally rich in essential fatty acids, especially alpha-linolenic acid (uncommon in fruit oils). Great for oily skin.
- Guava Seed Oil: This forms the base of Shamash and smells incredible! High linoleic acid gives this oil strong sebum-regulating and clarifying properties. The guava became a beloved fruit in the Middle East, brought through ancient trade routes. Reminiscent of my childhood growing up in Saudi Arabia drinking Saudi fruit juice cocktails at the weekends.
- Watermelon Seed Oil: Ancient Egyptians cultivated watermelons, and evidence shows their seeds were used for oil by 3000 BC - used to moisturise and protect skin from the desert sun. Extremely light, fast-absorbing oil. Provides a soft matte feel.
- Pomegranate Seed Oil: The pomegranate is one of the oldest fruits of the Middle East — revered in Persian, Babylonian, and Egyptian cultures as a symbol of beauty, fertility, and eternal life. A highly active oil rich in punicic acid, a rare antioxidant fatty acid. Excellent for mature or stressed skin.
- Jojoba Seed Oil: Closely mimics human sebum. Superb for skin barrier regulation. Adds protection and balance.
- Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil: Unusually high in omega-7 (palmitoleic fatty acid) - a rare fatty acid that support's the skin. Has a deep orange pigment from the carotenoids and adds antioxidant and glow-boosting benefits.
